Narrative Film is The Answer to Cultural Tyranny

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailfacebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

Before my walk across the United States, and even before I became politically aware of the dangers of massive government’s intrusive and tyrannical nature, I was studying to become a great film director. The film I was analyzing the composition and lighting of was The Natural.

Now, I’m picking up where I left off 4 years ago, as it has recently become evident to me that many Americans have completely abandoned their desire to seek out information that challenges their convictions. This includes documentaries, which were my focus for the past 4 years, since documentaries carry around the reputation of only trying to prove a point rather than seek out the truth, whatever it ends up being.

I have decided to return to creating and directing narrative films (in addition to pursuing the creation of documentary films), with the intent to entertain as well as inform. Many Americans are resistant to learning something that counters their preconceived notions of the world, however these same Americans would like to be entertained, and entertaining films with captivating characters and scenes tend to create a desire for the audience to replicate desirable attributes of those characters. Narrative film is something that the conservative/libertarian, or right leaning, movement isn’t just lacking, it’s almost extinct! We must fill this void if we want people to understand where we’re coming from, and we must do so in a way that is intended to entertain first and foremost, not lecture.

In the following days/weeks/months, you will see me analyze films for the purpose of getting myself warmed up again for narrative filmmaking and directing. Feel free to follow along, as I begin with an analysis of The Natural.

Perdie is Now Available For Hire

facebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmailfacebooktwittergoogle_plusredditpinterestlinkedinmail

I’ve decided that it’s about time to put myself back on the market…no not in the sense of making myself available for a relationship (this single guy has some things to focus on first), but in the sense that now I’m making myself available as a freelance cinematographer and editor. See the video below:
